The end of february gave us the sunniest morning ever to photograph Botero´s Big Cat sculpture at Rambla del Raval. We were talking about using the flash, and how to get nice bright reflections on metals or dark shiny surfaces. This cat was the perfect model for the topic.
We were 15 and looked like a bunch of paparazzi''''s chasing the poor cat, some on top of it and some under it. The good thing is that most of us got to deal with metering correctly, exposing correctly and filtering the flash to control shine and reflections. Then we moved to St Agusti´s church looking for a closed space to continue working with filtering and controlling the flash. there things were very different. Not a pretty church but in a state of decay that gave it a very interesting look. Part of its painting are literally falling apart and others have been removed for restoration. Its space is like an abandoned monument, very silent cold and lonely.
